On September 26, 2026, Meraki joined Beat Brew Bar and Boscon Coffee Roasters in Valencia for the CUC 2026 Latte Art Competition & Networking Event. Held at Boscon Coffee, the event brought the city’s coffee community together around a hands-on contest: making espresso, preparing milk, and turning both into a finished design in the cup. Meraki provided the espresso machines for the competitors and a new machine as the grand prize.
A competition built around the pour
CUC, the Urban Coffee Championship, brings coffee competitions and networking into local cafés. For the Valencia latte art event, Beat Brew Bar organized the competition and Boscon Coffee Roasters hosted it at its café on C/ de Finlàndia. The setting placed the contest where baristas usually work: close to the equipment, the drinks, and the people watching each pour.
A latte art pattern lasts only a moment in the making, but it draws on several practiced steps. The espresso forms the base; milk texture and pouring control determine how clearly the design appears. The competition gave those everyday café skills a public stage and gave coffee lovers a closer look at the work behind a familiar drink.
Meraki at the competition stations
Every competitor used a Meraki Espresso Machine for the event. Supporting the stations let us take part in the competition itself and put the machine in the hands of baristas focused on their craft.
A brand-new Meraki Espresso Machine was also offered as the grand prize. It marked our commitment to the event and gave the winner a way to keep practicing after the competition.
