A GUIDE TO ESPRESSO ACCESSORIES

Choose Accessories by the Step They Serve

The right coffee accessories depend on what you want to change in your routine. This collection includes tools for transferring and preparing grounds, viewing extraction, and cleaning your machine. Start with the step you need help with, then check the product details for size and compatibility.

01 / PREPARATION

Prepare the Grounds Before Brewing

An espresso dosing cup keeps grounds contained as you transfer them to the portafilter. The Meraki Coffee Distributor levels the surface before you use a tamper to press the coffee. Choose the tools that fit the parts of preparation you do by hand.

02 / FIT & FEEDBACK

Check the Fit, Then Watch the Shot

A 58mm bottomless portafilter lets you see espresso flowing through the basket. The collection also includes separate portafilter baskets and an espresso shot mirror. Before ordering a replacement, check its product page for the correct size and machine version. A shared 58mm measurement alone does not confirm that every part will fit.

Keep Cleaning Tools Separate

A blind basket is used for backflushing, not for brewing espresso. A cleaning brush helps remove loose grounds from the areas you use during preparation. Follow your machine’s instructions for the appropriate cleaning method and schedule.

CHOOSING YOUR TOOLS

Espresso Accessories FAQ

Check what each tool does and whether it fits your setup before ordering.

How do I check whether an accessory fits my Meraki machine?

Check the accessory’s product page and your machine version before ordering. For example, the Meraki 58mm bottomless portafilter has separate Gen 1 and Gen 2 compatibility options. A 58mm measurement alone does not confirm that every accessory will fit.

Do I need a coffee distributor if I already use a tamper?

No. A coffee distributor is an optional step that levels the upper surface of the grounds before tamping. A tamper then presses the prepared coffee bed. Use a distributor if you want that additional surface-leveling step in your routine.

What is the difference between the 12g and 18g portafilter baskets?

The 12g basket is intended for smaller-dose recipes; the 18g basket is designed around a nominal 18g dose. These numbers are starting points rather than fixed fill requirements. Check the basket’s fit and leave appropriate room for the prepared coffee bed.

How often should I backflush with a blind basket?

Follow your machine’s maintenance instructions for the backflushing schedule and whether to use cleaner. The blind basket is a cleaning insert for a compatible machine; it should not be used to brew espresso.
